1975 | Picked up an air conditioned Torino for $15/day. Toured Hawaii (Big Island). Went over the saddle road and saw military manouvers. Stopped for lunch at Waimea and then checked out the museum. Drove to Ascension Mission, the circular church, (had been there in 1969 with Mrs Hasegawa). Hapuna Beach for some body surfing. David was afraid of the waves but loved playing in the sand. Drove along the coast to Hawi, Kohala and Kapaau where we went to look at the hotel I stayed at - the fence I put in at the bottom of the stairs still there. Took a photo at the Kameamea statue. Drove to Keokea Beach park and Polulu Valley. Stopped at Waimea shopping center and then Ookala to Fujiokas'. Alvin was home on leave and Ann back on vacation from Uni. Jane's two sisters and a couple other people came. Played sukura with Paul, Alvin and Glen. Stayed up to greet Asaichi who was working the late shift at the sugar mill. See photos. | King Kameamea Polulu Valley |
