1969	Gail brought me to the airport and I flew to my new life. Details in Peace Corps Journal.
1971	Had to quell a riot in the dining hall as there wasn't enough pork.
1972	Deve's says that I owe him $9 and calls me a crook. Hayson's for hamburgers and snooker.
1973	Made a pottery salt pig. To Lark's for drinks with Brian Sutherland, a Cessna salesman.
1991	Drove to Phoenix and went to Jan's where we left Joyce and Lucky. Angi and I had lunch at Carrows where I had a humungous fruit salad. Saw her off at the airport and then picked up Joyce up for the ride home in the dark. Angi called from Houston and I spoke to Jim at length.
1997	T - Fab brought Laure Englebert (a real Walloon) to meet me and we hit it off immediately. She gave Matthew B a kiss and he turned red.
2000	Sa - First swim of the spring. Whites over for bridge, but Brundell showed up with scones (his mother's) so we played Upwords with a very good Miranda '99 Shiraz Grenache-Mourvedre.
2002	Ne and I left Dad's at 1PM. Took highway 12 west. Finally got to Des and Judy's (and Garfield) in Sacred Heart at 6PM, so missed Des who was off to a Lion's meeting. Judy brought us to Bart's in Renville where we had Bart Burger's (Swiss cheese, mushrooms). Then a tour of the Renville library where the genealogy group has its own room. Des explained what is involved with drying corn. Spent remainder of evening looking at Judy's Malecek data including an article about my great grandfather being arrested in 1911 for selling alcohol.	no Catholics no lasagna
2003	Visited Trish and family and had lunch with them. When David brings Taz in we are not allowed to move fast or look him in the eyes or we are dead meat. Last night when they played Scrabble the first 4 letters David chose were D,O,U,G in that order.
2006	Ian and Susi came for bridge. Mt Smart stadium with Ann and Russell where we met up with Owen, Noeline and her father Rollie for the Kiwi - Kangaroo Tri-nations test. Watched Juniors win 15-6. Evermore played three songs (Gail had to cover her ear). Kiwis began well, but were passing the ball to the opposition too often and losing foot races and lost 30-18.
2008	Mike came by in his Alfa Romeo to tell us about their trip to England and Ireland, the trip to Paris being cancelled because the chunnel fire on the day they were to travel. He had a meal with Sterling Moss. Dean had a stroke 5 weeks ago. Played R'nR Scattergories.
2011	F - Up at 9AM when I heard banging - scrap metal guy. Ended up with $78 so altogether $320 worth of bits and pieces I salvaged. email from Woody (bladderless and prostateless). Amcal to get refills and hug Kevin farewell. Mini Whites came by to get goldfish for their tank.
2014	T - Ian arrived around 3:30PM. Ne joined us for homemade fish n chips and then we played his Kingdom Builder a few times. Ian and I chatted until 1:30AM while downing 12Yr Glenmorangie.
