We left Ookala for Kohala at 8AM.  I was ill with flu so I rode in front with Dianne and Sean; Jim and Mike Coyle in the back of the truck with the beds and junk.  It rained for the whole hour trip and towards the end we chased a rainbow.  The talk in front was centered upon Sean's optimism.  Arrived at Kapaau and the Nambu Hotel.

We unloaded the trucks in the rain and claimed rooms - I ended up with David B.  Sean left to get a refrigerator.  David and I spent a good 6 hours scrubbing down the walls, floor, window and dressor.  Scouted around and managed to break into the office where we found card tables and chairs that we moved to the big room.  The kitchen was well stocked thanks to Sylvia and Ann who had gone shopping.  We decided to each put in $5 a week for food and set up a cooking rotation for the supper meals.  I was paired with Dave Downs.  The shower was beautiful, hot water!!!!  Mrs Hasegawa dropped in and she really was something else - took us all by surprize.
