| During staging I did not extend my range of friends much out from my four roommates. We were divided into four groups for
meetings, groups for dentist, optometrist, doctor. But we almost managed to seek each other in the groups. We had every
conceivable meeting possible, with Alice Kethley, Chuck Irby (flew in from Fiji) and others giving us their ideas of training and Fiji. We had people
flying in from Washington to talk to us for a couple hours then fly back. We had experts counselling us about the draft [ed. - I was A-1].
We had a lot crammed into 4 days and yet had a lot of free time that I spent walking around San Jose.
