1969 Hawaii - Luau Day:  Details in Peace Corps Journal.
1973 Met Lawrence (not Larry) Kleinsmith and wife; he was going to teach math at QVS, so I filled him in. Met Colin Maquire who will be Maths HOD at Rosehill next year. Staff do at Thoroughbred. We went with Smithers and Toblers. Chatted with McDougall, Flo, Mrs Lowrie. Ate with Lloyd, Christine Lindop and the Proudfoots. Tobler, who had way too much to drink, gave a great funny farewell speech - tore everyone apart, especially Des. John Greenhill was given purple underpants. When the dancing started I chatted with Dave Mogford and Rodewalds. I discovered Southern Comfort mixed with Coke and it sure went down easy. I floated home.

1983 T - Chuck and Inez over for supper with a dry French Dourthe Bordeaux Blanc.
1993 Article on the fire. Went to school to look over salvaged items that were in the gym. I made an inventory for Des. Picked up 250 disks from Jule Green. Lunch with Dad and we went to town. Picked up stove plates at Spragg's and introduced Dad to Gordon and also to Neil at New World. Gail and I went to school and I found the Mac breakup tool in the ashes. Went through photos and Dad had many stories.
1998 Su - Breezes came for a tour and two hour visit.
2003 Town to get med refills for all of us - clerk at Barker's so happy that Gail is back at Sandspit - hopes her son will have her. Getting xylene at Mitre 10 when a deep voice asks me if I planning on sniffing. Was Steve with Sally. They were leaving while I was in line at counter. I asked them if they wanted a sniff. Steve said: "We don't know this person".
2004 Audreys to do a Christmas newsletter and who should stop in but Mr Lu, the painter from Christchurch with the watercolour of her property. Needham called with his usual strange computer messages. After supper I went to Myers and we removed Buchon worm.
2007 Up at 4:30AM. Got to airport at 5:30AM and there was a humungous queque. As we neared the counters a call was put out to people on our flight to come forward. So it was all rush from that point onward. David was in the waiting lounge at the gate. He was able to sit with us for the flight to Sydney. Given a brand new Ford Falcon XR6 at Thrifty. Gail did first stint and got us through the city and over the bridge. Would you work for a company named "Micropay"? Stopped at a McDonalds for lunch and I drove us to Newcastle in heavy rain. Checked into Adamstown Motel. Rundown place with few amenities. Gail and I got groceries at Coles. Ian and Steve were at the motel when we returned. Hotel Premier for a meal (prawn skewers for me) with Whites and Ashleys (met her parents Kris and Phil and his partner Iin from Indonesia). Doug and Mel showed up with Amy. Sat with Leon and Brad.

2008 Awhitu Central Social Club (former school) for Kjell's 60th. Met Louise's sister-in-law, Yvonne (married to Adrian B), who had lived in Ohio. 2009 Su - Walked around Napier Botanical gardens and then brought David to the match. Taradale and had a wonderful visit at Riversdale Lifestyle Village. Jenny, the nurse showed us around. We went into Joy's 2 bedroom+ place and then Aggie and Keith's 2 bedroom place. Picked up DavidSupper at Estuary's Restaurant. I had salmon fins and a pork belly mains washed down by a Whitehaven '08 Gerwurtztraminer.

2011 T - Smithers stopped in for a visit before heading back to Auckland.

2018 Th - We left at 11:20AM and got to Bev's at 3:20PM (stop at Matamata for Gail to get a Filet-O-Fish). Surprized to find Colleen there (Bev has written that she wasn't coming over). Pickle much bigger now. He chewed one of my sandals. We tried the Secrets expansion for King Ludwig and it makes the game into a completely different one. We had a pork meal (Gail gave me too much meat) with a raspberry dessert that was a bit chewy. Something is removing the rind from lemons while on Bev's tree (photo). Then we played Stone Age. Left at 9:18PM and got home 12:06AM - smooth sailing on the roads.
2022 T - Bayfair and a full car park. Also no trolleys so I went out to get one and found a bottle of Lindauer ($11 bubbly) in one.
