1969	Hawaii: Details in Peace Corps Journal. Card is from the Fishers (signed at Thanksgiving gathering).
1972	Suva with Murphs. Arranged shipping to NZ with Williams and Gosling. Patton & Stork wanted $24 to build a crate. Bought Pentax Spotmatic SLR and ordered the Kenwood Jumbo tuner/amp at Gokals.
1975	(WKIS). Donna Mae lent us her car and we drove to Sea World. Fed the seals, sea lions and dolphins. Watched killer whale-dolphin show and the seal show. Watched Japanese ladies dive for pearls. Bought a Japanese black velvet wall hanging (photos of Sea World). On plane at 5:45PM and sat on the runway for 90 minutes, while all the business men procede to get drunk on the complementary drinks. We had to wait for a brake part that was flown in from Miami. Got to Mpls at 11PM. Mom picked us up and brought us over to Towns. Joyce had all of David's beautiful locks cut off and he looked like a stranger. Dick came home drunk threatened to kill us.
1976	Doug showed up first thing in the morning with a Rob Muldoon piggy bank. Fair at school - helped set up the "3G Blue" radio station. I was the money runner for our house (red) giving out change and collecting intake. Met Gail and we had tea together. She had bought plants and pillows. Santa was there and Te got a piece of candy from him. Most of the food was sold by noon and goods were gone by 2PM. I finished at 5PM. I bought a toaster and a Brownie camera for 10¢ each. Aldersons over in the evening for pizza and wine.
1977	Su - We were playing tennis at Rosehill when Bill Knight came to chase us off, especially the kids who were riding their train and tractor. But it was okay once he recognized me. Sunburned my back.
1984	T - Funny birthday card from Chris S. Steve N. called from Milwaukee.
1985	W - Bank to sign mortgage papers - 20% interest rate and $520/mo. - other bank to deposit $5000 at 19.5%, so will break even for a few months.
1987	Went to Breeze's for supper (Villa Maria '84 chardonnay) and Family Feud. Chris drew a card for me.
1988	Maraetai with Aldies. Ne went fishing from the wharf and caught 3 small ones while James netted one big one. I just lay on the beach for the 4 hours.
1993	Dad is taking Cabbie for a walk each morning. Went to Karioitahi for the first time this summer. Powerful waves coming right up to the grass and warm water. Gail, Ian, Matthew and I went in. My knee was bashed and swelled up so I came out. Back to Whites - they gave me a Goofy tie and Goofy hook (see card). And we gave them a table cloth for their anniversary. Supper, then walked around golf course. Out on porch visiting until 9:30PM. Dad told a story about Chris and a plumber's snake.	Dad and Granny

1998	F - ecard from Lynna. Ride-on returned - $96 for the new belt. TP at Bert's. Ann and Russell had a birthday cake with candles for me and gave me a Goofy figurine.
2001	Card from Fab and chatted with her. email from Ve who is now in Germany. First Christmas card (and loooooong letter) from Lynna (blod clots). Mike called to wish me a ____ and explain why he didn't call yesterday - poor Alex having more problems.
2002	email birthday greetings from Fab, Marge and Hansen.
2007	Birthday emails from Bob Hansen, Dee and Marge.
2008	Used my electric toothbrush for the first time. Angi called to say "Happy" (off to Hawaii). Officer John Hartley took Gail's statement about her accident and then told us about his coming to NZ from UK. "Berthe wishes" from Mrs dW.
2009	F - Emery gave me a bobble head Goofy, a card from Sam and brought along an extremely nice Esk '07 mer-cabsav-malbec. Went to town to get food as usual and had a look at the Santa display. Ian arrived in time for trifle dessert. Played Untrivia for a change.
2010	Sa - Called dad and found out the real version of his kidney stone operation. Had a detour on way to airport but still there in plenty of time waited half an hour before Linda, Dale and Allison came out. On way home they enjoyed seeing the rural scenery. Then it was a fish n chips supper with Linda having mussel (battered) for the first time. Had a very good Montana '09 Pinot Noir with it. Baba cake and trifle for desert. Real fun time chatting until 11:30PM.
2011	Su - Had brunch in OSV with Paul and Irene. Meal at Latitude 37. Gail had a Moscow Mule. We had Garlic tiger prawn skewers served in a chilled tequila, tomato, chilli & lime juice for starters. Women had scotch steaks and I had shrimp/bacon pasta in a fiery sauce. Home for a few games of Dominion.
2012	T - A Bev called wanting to discuss the end of the world. Russell called to wish me a HB'day. Kwang Chow (refurbished) then Dominion.
2014	Th - Apparently, Angi called at 2:30AM. Kim's. He made a spicy butter chicken for me and Clayton. We played Kingdoms. Jamie (father-to-be) came for King of Tokyo. Sean and Dave (he brought the BoraBora, 8MinEmp-Legends and Carcassonne Tower that I had ordered) joined in for One Night Ultimate Werewolf and Formula Motor Racing. I played Pay Dirt with Kim and Dave. Finally, Kim, Sean, Clayton and I played Rockwell until 3AM.
2015	F - Russell called. "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" Series 1 & 2 DVD came and I checked out the postie's electric bike.
2016	Su - Birthday emails from Monique, Hansen, Kelley and Schwitters. The TPers arrived around 1:20PM with cards and gifts for me. Russell (his card) in one car and Ian (gave me a Glenmorangie) in his new 2010 Vitz. James' card, Colleen and Bev's card, part of Roché's card via Ian. Irene (card) gave me a Solar Bouquet Flower Light that I put onto the front statue. Miss X gave me a roll of toilet paper (photo). After a bit of chat we played Trivial Pursuit. Most of us did a short walk on the beach - very windy. Turkish takeaways followed by games: Sequence for most while Ian and I taught Colleen Kingdom builder (photo). Birthday cake and Russell filled his car with party people and off everyone went leaving Ian and Susi behind to talk until 1:30AM while drinking the 15 year old $100 Glenlivet and a 2014 Wolf Blass Gold Shiraz.
2019	W - Birthday emails from Hansen and Schwitters. Steak dinner followed by Castles of Burgundy.
2023	M - Birthday emails from Angi, Newsy, Ian, Kelley and Colleen A. 60 minute walk in the rain only to find out that Girven Pharmacy and Post Office closed down in Nov. So I drove to Papamoa to post off the TradeMe Beatles CDs. Russell called.
2024	W - Biked to 34OC where I walked Kizzie, did the drive stones, weeded and pruned. Had a Warheads Extreme Sour Freezer Pop that Ne gave me yesterday. Great card from Trish. Gym and pool (12).
