| 1979 | W - Manukau Secondarty Schools Basketball AGM after school and I was elected chairman. No one wanted to be secretary or treasurer so I end up doing everything. Pizza Hut. Sanders brought Gail's spice cabinets (hand hewn by Mike). | ||
| 1987 | Gail's gifts and then Pizza Hut for supper. Mike and Kathy brought the coffee/display table over ($300 for table - $80 for the glass) he made. It is very solid, with heavy legs made from totara. The display compartment is 3" deep. Watched Came A Hot Friday on video. Slow start, but Billy T livened it up and stole the show. |  | |
| 1988 | Took day off and drove around looking at VCRs before deciding to buy a Mitsubishi Black Diamond LP with slow-motion ($900). Cyclone Bola destroyed our Edwardsii which crushed the fence (video) and Ne didn't want to deliver the newspapers (video). | ||
| 1989 | Chimney sweep - 30 minutes = $35. Decorated house with black balloons, black towels to pin cards onto, black streamers and a big black "40". Cake decorated with chocolate leaves. |  | |
| 1991 | Towns called (first time ever) - Dick down to 140lb and can't keep food down. We looked at slides of Gail from 1972 to 1990 while sipping an Italian Frascati. | ||
| 1993 | Miranda Hot Springs with Whites and Ian's niece, Ann. It was Thames Country Music day. The girls had the band wish Gail a Happy Birthday and play "Achy Breaky Heart". Had a '92 Mission Semillion Sav Blanc. |

| 1996 | Th - Hoffsis arrived with our US supplies. Jim said that the only change in Fiji is that at the markets the imperial heaps are now metric heaps. Restaurant 360° to celebrate Gail's birthday. |  | |
| 1999 | Su - Whites over for lunch with a Lilliput Lane cottage: "Nest Egg" for Gail (video). After coffee and carrot cake (that Ne had baked) we played bridge with the '95 Chateau La Talque Bordeaux that Ne brought back. |  | |
| 2003 | Moved the bench that David and Steph bought for Gail (Ne assembled it) from loft to Brundell Bush for Gail to discover. Elaine came by with a tulip pot for Gail. They went for a swim and then we had blueberry cheesecake that Ne had made. Opened a '01 Cazat-Beauchene Bordeaux that was overkill for fried chicken. Picked up by Ian and over to College for the girl soccer team Trivial Pursuit fund raiser. Jackie's friends, Emilie from France and Elna from So Africa, Tracy and Scott rounded off the team. We came in third - Ian's team (8 teachers and 3 students) won. |

| 2009 | Ian and Susi brought us to Agave, overlooking Karioitahi Beach. I tried the Agavito drink (tequila [couldn't taste any], ginger [that was the main taste], mint and honey) to go with the lunch which was handled by Alicia (former student of Ian's). They gave Gail a barometer-thermometer and card. |  | |
| 2011 | M - Ian and Susi over for bridge and took three rubbers. Ne arrived with a birthday cake and so with the one Gail had made we were spoiled for choice. |  | |
| 2012 | W - Our livingroom furniture arrived. Colleen gave Gail a bromeliad. I made up a Big Bang card for Gail. Ne joined us for a meal at Blue Restaurant. Had a caipirinha and scallops in macadamian nut crumble. |  | |
| 2013 | Th - Colleen's for drinks with Ne and then we went to Milanos for a good meal - bruschetta starters and a great prawn penne for me. The Brown Brothers 2010 Dolcetto & Syrah was a fizzy red that was too sweet. Picked up Muppet and the Sansevieria Cylindrica that Colleen gave Gail. Back to our place for birthday cake. | ||
| 2015 | Sa - I gave Gail a purple camera and a fancy door bell plus smaller items each in an ice cream container. We had our first go at Bora Bora (photo) which took until 11PM. |  | |

| 2023 | T - Countdown to get goodies for Gail's bday. Russell called. We went to 34OC to add the Asian cards to Wingspan. Back at home we opened the Omara Strawberry Cream liquour for an affagotto. Gave Gail a box of Pralines. We watched the Lions - Cats preseason AFL game. |  | |
| 2024 | Th - Started off with tiramisu cake, then gifts (Guardians 3 DVD), we each gave Gail Nutri Grain (mine was chocolate). Kingdomino and Dog Park with European expansion. Pizzas with a 2021 McLaren Ink (Shiraz). Trish called. Played Habitats. Watched Dogs roll over the Hawks in preseason. Russell called - home from heart operation. Gym and pool (12). |  |
