Farm - Gary showed me how to fry perfect eggs and bacon and then we decamped. Grandpa brought us to Redwood Falls and we
bought him some comics and Grandma a photo album. We unloaded the chicken feed into the grainery. Helped cut, rake and lift alphalfa across the road and then stacked it. Played checkers with Grandma. |

1969 |
Labor Day. Hennipen County Park with Gail for a "picnic" and we had to eat cold hot dogs and skip the hamburgers because we didn't bring a grill thinking we'd use one there - but there weren't any. After sitting a spell at
Scrabble (no pun intended) we walked around the lake and then played cards. Sat by the lake until they kicked us out. I nicknamed her "chubby cheeks", cause she smiles so much, pushing out her cheeks. Bought The Archies
"Sugar Sugar" and it has since become 'our' song. |

1971 |
Met Hoffsis at Peking. They were with the Cuvu principal and wife. They brought us to Hindi Festival Night at Albert Park. Crowded. Saw a Maori group and several other acts perform then walked around checking out the stalls. Van Loan wouldn't talk to me because I didn't send him a birthday card. |
1972 |
Eric said we could have Jemesa's house [a grade 4 twice as big as the grade 5 with nicer furniture and a gas stove and hot water and a bathtub! - no more cold showers]. Fantastic as it is next to the Whites and school. |
1984 |
Sa - Doug brought me to their farm. Trish said the woman across the road is president of Auckland Herb
Herb Society. So I said she probably knows Carmel Hare - and that's who it is. Pam and Paul came to help Doug deliver a lamb. Mia is a "lay about" these days. Sanders came over and we had turns holding James. After a soup meal (with an excellent Selak's '82 Cabernet Sauvignon) we looked at slides and played 8 ball on the table Doug got from Bickerton. |

Su - Dropped Heasley off at Fiji Commissioner's home in Hillsborough and went to Waitakeres with Ian. Bought a map and pamphlets at Info Center.
Had a picnic lunch there. Two tuis put on a show. Drove to Cascade Park where we crossed the bridge and spent 3 hours hiking up and down hills in the mud. Several large kauri trees to be seen. Was a long haul, but we made it. |

Dad's at noon (video). Chris picked up Bernie at the Greyhound bus station. He looks very good for 58 years (video). He brought along a birthday cake for Dad (video), who didn't need it as he is putting on weight and is rolly-polly at age 68.
We talked for awhile (video and audio). Met Cindy, the cockapoo, who loves to lick my ears (video). After a meal (video) we went to Lilli Putt on Coon Rapids Blvd. First time for Bernie (first time to the cities!). He was very funny in his actions and words. Kept the crowd entertained, but bothered those who know golf etiquette (video).
I won with some spectacular shots. Bernie thought he'd organize going to a dance with a lady friend who lives in Apple Valley. Has no concept on just how big the metro area is. So we had to talk him out of it. David and I walked the dog with Dad at the park that adjoins his property (video). |

1992 |
Gail and I went to the Grand Opening of and ran into Betty, Sandy Clark and Mark Bogey. MCC with Ian to get visa papers, then TL Systems to get connectors from Graeme S and Ian ended up buying a computer for the school library
and upgrading 4 XTs. Walked around Onehunga Mall and found a great book store. In another shop Ian bought a space age blanket from a Russian. |

Warriors down 22 - 4 at half time for Johnson's last game. They made a spectacular come back and won the game with a try on the last play of the game, 28 - 26 (highlights). |
