1960 | Grandpa brought us to Redwood Falls. Gary and I walked to the bowling alley but it was closed. We bought bb's for the air rifle and shot at roosters. Went to the old farmstead and the creek seems more like a river.
1961 | High = 93°F. State Fair with Newstroms. Steve and I went to the Midway and I got licences and future wife cards in the arcade. Went through Ye Old Mill and animal buildings.
1963 | Twins game rained out so Norm, Gary and I went to Luxury to play pool. Kelley came over and we went out to Howie's who took us for a ride. Went to the double-header. Olson and I tried to hide out in the leftfield bleachers instead of flogging hot dogs (25 vendors for 10,000 people). We left after the first game.
1964 | Met Debbie Jamieson from St. James, friend of Daniels. I took Terri and Kincy went with Debbie to the State Fair. | Debbie |
1971 | Walked to Toorak and spent day with Doli's father, Jack. He told me many tales about Fiji before WWII. Daya came by and we had lunch. Walked back to Coyle's. We bussed into town. Ran into Jone Tevita. Ended up at Mark's for supper (moustacioli) and then pinochle (one game of NY rules and one with Ohio rules). Spent the night there.
1984 | Su - I walked over to Benson's who showed no surprize in seeing me. Typical scene with Owen and Peter putting a transmission into their truck, and Mark working on his cycle. Each boy was taller. Spent some time talking computers with Bruce and stayed for dinner. On way home (at 8:30PM) I stopped in at Dianne's to meet Mark and share a bottle of fruity Paul Masson Emerald Dry. Conversation dwelt on on crime and fear gangs are causing in Papakura.
1985 | M - Pukekohe High School. No sign of Mitchell, so I spent half an hour searching for Ashby Place. Got there, picked up Trefina who showed me where Jim's room was at the school. Spent 2 hours while Jim and Ian copied programs. Back to Mitchell's for a cup of tea.
1990 | Gibbon Ballroom and spent afternoon in the Pumpernickel Room with the Krohns for Carl and Marie Malmberg's 50th Anniversary. The Minnesota Over 60 Band played very old oldies for 45 minues to kick it off. Some great stories about the amazing couple - Marie driving to California in the 30's with a couple other girls. Was able to mix and mingle for a while (video). Instead we went to Sleepy Eye for a get together with Jeanie's family. Met Lori's (Happy Birthday) Dan, Jessica and Joey. Met Mary's John (live in Inver Grove Heights). Met Randy's Connie, Kyle and Kaleb. Met Gary's girlfriend, Shelley (video). Eloy being laid off as the company is closing down - with them for 32 years and no pension. Uno. |

1992 | We had Betty over for a meal and Minnesota slides.
1997 | T - Day 57 of our 3 month journey around the world. See 1997 Trip Photo Journal.
2002 | Went to the courthouse to check out the arts and crafts stalls (Labor Day weekend). Found some nifty glass holders by Henry. Dog hats. We visited Shrankos and I gave Joan lighthouse things and a Twins cup to Bob. Angi called. | Shrankos |
2010 | Th - Ian over for a couple games of Alhmabra (new record for my wall of 34 helped me win second game) and he gave us Amway clothes pegs.
2023 | Sa - Played "Dog Park" for the first time. Removed strawberry plants and turned the area. AFL: GWS 162 (Hogan had 9) - Bombers 55, Saints 88 - Cats 55 and Swans 74 - Crows 73. Watched the Warriors B-squad lose to Dolphins 34 - 10. Then Tall Blacks lose to Greece in IBF, being knocked out after leading whole game until 8 minutes left.
