1968	Steve and I went had breakfast at Birkland store and played Scrabble with Betty.
1972	Murphy brought us to Nausori where we talked to Fatiaki about Gail's teaching options.
1976	Heather brought us to see Gail; Kathy and Lia stopped in. I made chili for Aldies and Doug brought me over to see Gail. Settled on Desli as middle name - she is now with Gail.
1979	Sa - Mike and Lia visited. Aldies over in evening to listen to Beatles albums. I've been thrashing Something New.
1984	Sa - Sanders brought me to the airport for the tearful goodbye. Sat next to Bill Elphick, Wellington hairdresser equipment supplier going to Las Vegas conference. His mother is in Perth, so he told me all about it. Bill and I hung out at San Fran and I filled him in on US tipping habits. 13 hour wait for me. Had a chicken dinner. About 10:45PM a young woman asked me where to catch the bus. I watched her bags while she looked. It turned out that she (Gulya) was from Turkey and doing a PhD. Her best friend, Paula Lantz, is from LeSeur and working as a programmer in Mpls. Managed to get about an hour's sleep before the flight to Denver.
1990	Dad brought us to the airport where Chris met us. We switched to a direct flight to Dallas on American Airlines arrving there at 1:30PM (video). Picked up by Roxane in her Volvo. They have a fantastic house (outdoor vid - indoor - vid). Steve was out mowing the lawn and he went for a run. Julie (8) took to David and they played Skipbo while Rachel (1½) latched onto Ne. Called Subway to have sandwiches made. When we got there we ran into a "space cadet" who hadn't begun and then proceded to do them incorrectly, so we left, only to pick them up later on the way to Arlington stadium. Steve, David and I in his VW, girls (with Julie's friend Stephanie) in the Volvo. Rain delayed start by 45 mins. We sat in the right field bleachers in the rain. Watched Texas Rangers beat KC 2 -1 with the San Diego chicken in attendance (video). We left in the 8th to avoid the traffic. Kids in bedroom and I slept on pullout couch.
1992	Whites arrived at 9:15AM. Everyone into the van. Stopped for lunch at a Caltex station and watched a very large herd being moved down the highway (video). At Rotorua we did the Orchid place and checked out a spring (video). Got to Awakeri Hot Springs around 5PM. Two units (one for adults and one for kids), then into hot pool at 6PM for an hour.
1997	M - Day 63 of our 3 month journey around the world. See 1997 Trip Photo Journal.
2001	Whites stopped in for a cuppa - Ian dropped Susi off at dentist, came back in an hour to find building locked. Turns out that Archibald had been in and left, locking up. Finally, Sarah saw Ian and threw him the keys (can't unlock from inside). Whites for bridge. Doug W called - he will be in Auckland as his new job is with Ansett and he has to figure out how many people are employed.
2002	Left Grand Junction, Colorado. Trip Report.
2006	Couple hours at Bells capturing video. Gail went to see Gunn about MRI results to once again find that they didn't make it to him. So it was a waste of time, petrol and money.
2014	M - Carcassonne. Skunked twice. Watched The Descendants, Roll Out episode Strange Bedfellows and Fred Dagg: Country Collander.
2015	T - Yardwork. Catan, which I won for the second time ever.
2016	Th - Mombasa.
2017	F - A cold had me back and forth to bed. email from Cheryl - Patty has died. Watched John Wick: Chapter 2.
2018	Sa - Made a card for Russell. Weeded. Played Dominion Notcurne. Had Pronto (calamari), then played Ludwig and Kingdom Builder. Stayed up to watch Warriors lose first round of playoffs to Panthers - not surprized, eh?
2019	Su - Rained all day. Measles throughout the country. Terraforming. Brought Ne's car here so I can bring it in for the loud noise when reversing stops. Watched the Warriors win the final game of the season beating 4th place Raiders.
2020	T - Crashed for a couple hours. AFL: Melbourne crushed an injury ladened Collingwood. Watched Warriors lose to 3rd place Eels - Tavanga sin binned for grabbing a shirt. email from Ian - Heasley has terminal cancer. Watched Expedition Unknown.
2021	W - Day 22 of Delta lockdown (636 cases). First day of level 2 and Ne came over to play Terraforming. Ne painted a diptyche to replace the paintings in our alcove (I figured after 10 years it was time for a change). email from Craig B with photos from 7th form days. AFL: Bulldogs eliminated Bombers in rainy Tasmania. Watched Bridesmaids.
2023	F - Scott W (hadn't seen him for 13 years) came to picked the albums he wanted. He is thinking of moving to Papamoa and has applied for the manager position at PakNSave. Biked to 34OC using my new high tech helmet for the first time. Just the usual yardwork. Weeds have taken over. AFL: Dogs 109 - Cats 79.
