1964 Night Owls went camping at the farm. We arrived after dark. So we wouldn't disturb Grandpa and Rose, we drove over to the other side of the road and slept in our sleeping bags in the open.
1971 Kelera's family left on morning bus. I skipped afternoon classes and went to Suva with Breezes. Told Jack at the PC office that I wanted a third year. Dr Low told me tests showed that I have parasites and gave me some pills. Got a typhoid booster in the arm and a gamma globulum in the butt. Supper at Yacht Club and then checked out "Pyewacket" [ed. - Simon's new boat].
1975 Gail accepted the Head Start job for Milan area. Barbeque in the park. Softball at 9PM, I played second and went 1 for 4, scoring a run in our 14 - 10 loss. Watched Uri Geller bend a spoon, get watches going and moves a compass needle with brainpower.
1983 Sa - Drove to Ralph Stone's farm west of Verndale for Tom and Kathy's wedding (Anouncement). I was best man and walked up the "aisle" (ceremony outside on the lawn next to gravel road) with Kathy's cousin, Naomi. Pastor George read words made up by the couple. Milk truck drove in during the photo session. Only "guests" were Tom's sister, Carrie, and family. Her daughters, Margo and Lucy, were flower girls. Walked down the road a bit to get photos with horses. Changed and went to Wadena for lunch at Dairy Queen. Found 6 albums for $1.02 each at Pamida (see list). Back to farm to help set up for a reception. Kids spent the afternoon on tractors and in the corn crib and all over the farm. I sat inside with the old folks who came: Naomi's parents: Bill and Orlet. Ralph let the kids watch cows being milked. Tom gave me a bottle of Praline. We left about 6:30PM and drove to Lake Carlos State Park. Only 8 spots of the 146 were vacant. Set up tents and made supper.

1995 Whites at 1:30PM to visit with Domo. Played marbles until Ian got home then it was Upwords. Neli and Mario came by. We left at 6PM.
1997 W - Day 37 of our 3 month journey around the world. See 1997 Trip Photo Journal.
2002 Drove to Northtown at 10AM. Bus to downtown Mpls where we walked down Hennipen - completely changed with only a couple buildings remaining from the 60's. Light rail system on 5th St runs from Anoka, to Mall of America and airport. After a long wait bus went right past us - wrong block. Luckily, next bus to St Paul was only 15 minutes later. Got dropped off on one side of I94 at Marion St and it was a bit of a walk to get to the Minnesota Historical Society building. Bus load of genealogists beat us to the library and each one needed a new card, so that was another 30 minutes to get into the microfilm room. Sign says "limited to 10 minutes" on machine and my poor father almost lost it. All this travel and walking only to be kicked out after 10 minutes. No one being kicked out. We got film for Olivia Times Journal 1946-1948 and spent the next hour reading through May-July as he was certain an article about him, written by an army clerk in Vienna, had to be there. We stretched into Sept with no luck and went backward into April. I said I gave up. But he wanted to go back one more page and there was "Our Boys Abroad" and it in the following: item about him. So we continued searching but didn't find what he wanted. Long walk to busstop, then wait for bus to Mpls and an even longer wait for bus to Northtown. CUB for food. As we were leaving we ran into John Mann.
2004 TP at our place. Alastair and Maureen joining us for the first (and only) time and we had a cake for Emery.
2008 Elaine came by with a swimming suit for Gail, handbag/wallet for Ne and a Hawaian shirt for me, plus a plush skunk for us.
2011 Sa - Russell and I went to Mt Smart to watch the Vulcans beat the Magpies. Under-20s romped over Newcastle before the big boys put their game away in the final minutes. Drove back with Ann - copied last of her Alaska photos and got home at 11PM.
2016 Sa - Discovered a nail in rear tire, but safe enough to drive on. Lower team lost to Rabittohs and the big guys got slaughtered in the first half 31 - 6, but managed to outscore 16 - 10 in second. There were a lot of illegal sitters, two groups being booted out. Russell had a serious choking problem with his hamburger. Thought I had lost him.
2017 Su - Clear drive to Russell's. Watched reserve grade boys win. And then it was the usual display from the top team. Played better than usual but still lost big time. It began raining and when a fellow came up and sat in the seat in front of me, Peter (who owns that seat) blew his top and the guy started swearing back and others joined in on both sides and I thought I might end up in the middle of a rumble. It was rain all the way home but I stayed ahead of the worst, seeing plenty of lightning strikes in the distance.
2020 Th - email from Trish who had a stroke. AFL: Watched 17th place Kangaroos (119) beat 18th place Crows (50).
2022 Sa - We played Borabora as soon as I got up at 10:30AM. Listened to the Twins - Angels game while painting a portrait. AFL: In a fight for 12th place Port beat GWS (Rozee had 5 goals).
