1971	Kincy brought me to Gail's. We got lost on 100 and ended up in Hopkins! Joyce still looking good - Dick prejudiced against "niggers" and long-hair. Gail brought me home, but I was locked out so I spent the night at her place.	Kincy
1973	Breezes arrived in NZ and to our place about 4PM; showed them around Papakura and ran into Robyn McD working at McKenzies [ed. - dept store]. McDougalls and Chas over in evening for a drink and a chat.
1980	Th - Mom brought Angi and Jody from airport with Chris at 9:15PM. They are driving to California so I gave them a "California or Bust" kit. Asti Spumante (Cinzano) toast to Jody, ate and remembered our childhood pets.
1981	F - Work Christmas party at Cathy Reis'. Lost table tennis to Strom, then to Schauer. Young guys played doubles while the older married ones sat around in livingroom. Gag gifts, I got sock puppets (made by Kitty) and Gail got a windup monkey that claps symbols. Supervisors got tee-shirts and McMonigal was given a wig kit.
1983	Su Record low = -24°F with a high of -15°F (TV report).
1993	Aldies and Doug off to see a patient. Rest of us went to Botanical Gardens, where we fed the ducks. Home for drinks. On the way James querried what "Accuse Rick" meant. It was grafitti, and I told him it was Albanian for "Merry Christmas".	Accuse Rick
1997	Th - Doug over, with large plaster off of his nose, for Lyrics game.
1999	Sa - Ian over to get fencing - Christian arrives tomorrow. Senad called - quit Burger King after one week. Gail found a $20 note when biking to store.
2000	M - Helen's to install new monitor and speakers. Letter and card from Leroy. Letter, card and pics from Gutzke.
2001	Yesterday Gail was bleaching our water jug, I didn't know and put it back into the fridge. Today Jackie had a drink from it - she didn't die and her teeth are now whiter. Matthew came over with Ian for his last swim before heading to Australia.
2004	Elaine stopped in on her way to visit Bob in hospital (heart repairs). Hail! Watched Dogville while installing software onto Mike's laptop.
2005	email from Woody - now living in the house with some contact with Taina. Skunked Gail. Ian and I went for a swim - well, I did, Ian out after two minutes. Then Susi and I struggled at bridge.
2006	Cards from Signe and Monique. Up to Needham's to remove SpyAxe. Set up the guest room with our Oriental stuff. Watched Nip Tuck.
2007	Couldn't stomache Nasa's spicy breakfast. We walked down a trail to an isolated Bonny Hills beach. I cut my finger marking a tree when I closed the blade and found out it was razor sharp. After awhile on the beach we climbed back up and drove down to a more populated beach (2 girls, 2 boys, a man and 5 dogs) by the houses. Back to Seaview B&B. Watched Time Team.
2008	Did laps. Photo from Atmore, card from Smithers and a letter from Inez. Brought Gail in to see Dr Trikkinad and then to get her meds. email from Edith W who had read Gail's letter to the editor. And one from Nick who had an umbilical hernia fixed and is laid up for 6 weeks. Put three bikes and christmas tree out on verge with sign "FREE" and they went in minutes.	ex Smithers
2009	F - Card and newsletter from Jacqui B. Laps. Emery's where we found James - visiting for 3 months. Had beef korma, which was strangely like buttered chicken. TP at Paul's. He served up a Sounds '06 Pinot Noir.
2010	Sa - Card from Berthe. Card from Hoffsis and card from Russel.
2011	Su - Watched Up.
2012	T - email from Jim F with photos. Ne's for Lindauer Pinot Gris bubbly with Colleen to wash down all of the Christmas treats.	Bran-Addy
2013	W - Cards and letters for Newsy, Angi, Hansen and Hoffsis. Card from ICW. Petanque with Ash and Jenny (Robyn's wife). 3B to meet Jeremy and get an application for Warm Up NZ subsidized insulation going. Smallworld. Watched Your Highness.
2014	Th - Card and email from Roxane. Finished reading the extremely difficult Utterly Trivial Knowledge - The Music Game. Card from Steph. Games at Max's. Played Montgolfiere. Then Kings of Air and Steam (I won) and Rush and Crush with Max, Gareth, Matt and PK. Sean joined us for Pirate's Cove (3rd).	ex Steve
2015	F - Cards for White, Wilkins and Emery. Anna over for Scrabble and tight game it was. Card from Shirley W and one from Cheryl. Watched Soldiers of Fortune.
2016	Su - Weeded veggie garden. After supper Gail began a walk with me...but turned back at Seaspray. Sprayed weeds.
2017	M - Card and $50 gift card from Colleen. Gathering at Flattery's. Everyone was there: Heather, Janet, Bev, June and Ron from our side and then Barb (very deep) and Chas, Charles (big shot with big shot children plays Bolivia with Gail) and Evelyn. Chris (dog - Scotty), Doreen (petanquer), Raewyn and Peter with who who I had longs chats. Equally long chat with Sandy. Tom from Pacific Coast came late. Finger food so no supper at home. I enjoyed my Ruby Bay 2012 Pinot Gris, a Kingfisher 2016 Cab Sav and a 2016 3 Stones Pinot Noir. I was with last to leave at 7:20PM. Card and letter to Anna. Cards for Bev and Colleen.
2018	T - Cards for the two Anns. Was supposed to be a short walk to mail them. Fellow from Pacific View stopped me to tell that there was now a bus stop in front of OSV. Then I came across two boys with bike chain problem. I tried to help but we really needed tools. Pruned. Monza race and I came in 1st and 3rd, both cars topping up tires after 2nd lap and driving like crazy to catch up and pass the other cars.
2019	W - Very windy day so I stayed inside. Second card from Newsy - unfortunately the NZ money had been stolen. I continued my mastery of El Grande. We had a weird sweet potato snack. Had a Burger King Jalapeno burger. Terraforming. I had a $24 Lotto win.
2020	F - Card for Clarkx. Walked to get a B12, then Bayfair for newspaper and 12 flights. Found a cache in vacant lot by surgery and ended up with a new high of 20 cans. Need to go back for the rest. Christmas newsletter and photos from Roxane. Card and tote bag filled with goodies from OSV.
2021	Sa - Day 121 of Delta/Omicrom lockdown (2103 cases). Concordia. 34OC to give Ne a third HDMI cable and do yardwork.
2022	Su - Watched highlights of biggest NFL comeback as Vikings down 36 - 0 went on win 39 - 36 to become NFC North champs. On and off in bed taking it easy. Finally had it with the foam mattress smell so I took everything off it and cut it in half. Tried sleeping on the single beds but both too bouncy, so little sleep for johnny boy.
