April 5 2009. Home vs Rabbitohs Loss 16 - 22 If you weren't worried before this game should do it. 19,000 showed up expecting a win despite our big guns out of action. Bad vibe before game when "Cheer Team" was in middle of routine and the two teams came on without introductions. Brilliant start, 12 - zip. Tremendous amount of ball and most of it at the opponents goal line. The game should've been a route. Somehow (one might suggest Stacey's poor kicking options and execution) they managed to lose the plot and the game.
March 28 2009. Home vs Broncos Loss 26 - 10 Can you spell "SUX"? McKinnon continues to suck - just a flash in the pan circa 2007. Brisbane ran circles around the boys and through gapping holes. A great pity because 24,000 fans came out were pretty much kept out of the game.
March 22 2009. Manley vs Sea Eagles Win 26 - 24 Got behind and it didn't look good. But a Manu tip to Ropati try in the 79th minute was converted for the upset win.
March 14 2009. Home vs Eels Win 26 - 18 Stamina? You expect everyone to be raring to go for the first game of the season. So no surprize that the frenetic start produced points. 20,000 in the stadium expecting big things this year. Sure, Manu dropped the ball - no big deal. But McKinnon loses a dead easy catch and opens the door to the Eels. Enter Super Sub and wham bam thank you m'am two tries and a penalty goal from the one man scoring machine. Everything sweet and then he goes down with a knee injury and it is time to worry. How long before the "man of the match" Hohaia returns?
